We have a new house that is in the midst of being built! It's out in this sweet, historic town called Granbury! We are about two blocks from the downtown square, the lake, and even closer to tons of parks (even Frisbee Golf!). My mom and dad are going for a modern cottage look (I'm soooooo thrilled to have some upcoming DIY projects with my parents--we'll post them here as well!) We worked our tails off this past weekend staining the concrete floors to look like limestone…I say we but my mom did all of it (She also designed the whole house)! Patsy is not only a weddingologist--she's just an artist. Plain.and.simple.
Then we all (really my dad & helped then!) had to cover those artistic floors so that no other contractors mess them up! 9 rolls of paper, 7 rolls of tape, and 10 gallons of sweat later we were finally finished!

This is the front porch area, don't you just love our indecisiveness to the right? Paint colors are SO HARD to pick out!
This is part of the living room, with a view out into the backyard. Please notice all the handiwork on the protective floor covering…my knees still aren't back to their normal color yet…
A view of the kitchen in progress, that island to the left is going to have a massive piece of quartz that comes out into table form! Little Shelby's water bowl shows how hard she worked too!
This is one of my favorite rooms in the house! This is a back, guest bedroom. If you can see there are two arches, each arch has a window, and below each arch will be a built in bed! So chic!
This will be my room! We did elevated closets to evoke a sense of character, like in this room.
